Sequim's Carrie Blake Park
Sequim is a great city for those who enjoy walking and running. The city is pedestrian friendly with a flat terrain and wide sidewalks. Carrie Blake Park, which is connected to the Water Reuse Demonstration Park, is a popular venue for those on foot. With a looping mile-long trail, ponds, fountains, and a wealth of wildlife, the park is a great place for a stroll or a run.
Olympic Discovery Trail
Sequim is situated right in the center of the 120 mile Olympic Discovery Trail that stretches from Port Townsend across the Olympic Peninsula to the Pacific Ocean. Currently 80 miles of the trail are paved including the connection from east of Sequim to Port Angeles. Perfect for walking and bicycling, the trail will take you through beautiful scenic areas including along the Strait of Juan de Fuca and through the historic Railroad Bridge Park. There are abundant rest stops, picnic areas, and opportunities to stop at local attractions including the Dungeness Wildlife Refuge Area and the Olympic Game Farm.
North Olympic Discovery Marathon
Join us for the North Olympic Discovery Marathon, which is held each June with a course that runs from Sequim to Port Angeles and incorporates the Olympic Discovery Trail. Described as the best boutique marathon in North America, the course includes sweeping views of the majestic Olympic Mountains and finishes on a 5-mile stretch along the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
